[Event Recap] Employment Law Panel Discussion for 1.5 SHRM Credits

On February 26, hiring managers and HR leaders joined Advent Group for a complimentary Employment Law Panel discussion. As a re-certification provider for SHRM, this program was valid for 1.5 PDCs for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.

Our experienced panel of employment law attorneys explored some of the most critical legal topics affecting employers today, including non-competes, #MeToo – one year later, Minnesota’s Whistleblower Act and respectful workplace training.

During the discussion, the panelists answered key questions, such as: How do you respond to harassment claims involving social media? How can employers do a better job preventing whistleblower claims? What if you want to hire someone who has a non-compete?

After the discussion, panelists answered more specific questions from the audience regarding effective anti-retaliation policies, social media policies, and more.

When asked what they enjoyed most about the events, attendees said they appreciated how the panelists “dug into real issues” and “provided practical advice”. Attendees also gave high praise to the variety of topics covered and the panelists’ depth of knowledge.

The discussion was facilitated by Vice President of ReVrb Leader Hubs, Natalie Ackerman and the panelists included:
